Global warming from green house has become one major issue in this world. It is affecting many places
around the world. It has been proven from a research that approx. 25% of carbon dioxide has been
raised since 1850 due to deforestation and increase in consumption of fossil fuels. There is increase in
level of greenhouse gases such as methane, CFCs. There are several observations which has displayed
that the impact of global warming such as rise in level of sea, the melting of ice caps and significant
climatic changes in the world. It is threat to all the living beings on this Earth.
Negatives of Global warming:
There is significant increase in global average temperature in past century. According to scientists, most
of the increase in temperature since mid-20th century is due to increase in atmospheric greenhouse gas
concentrations. On the basis of different observations it has been concluded that the years 1991, 1983,
1987, 1988, and 1989 were the warmest six years in last hundred years and 1991 was warmest year of
the past century.
Carbon Dioxide is the reason behind the global warming. It increases the rate of evaporation into
evaporation. The water vapor, a greenhouse gas causes more warming. The level of co2 will increase
much more due to ongoing burning of fossil fuels and land use change. The increase in level depends
upon the uncertain economic, sociological, technological and natural developments.
There is another gas called sulfur group gas which is again harmful. The sulfur group contributes 30% in
global warming. This gas is also emitted from burning of fossil fuels. Increase in global temperatures will
cause rise in sea level.
Population Growth is the parent reason for the increase in level of gases. There is close relation between
global warming and population growth. Today the large population on earth is using various kinds of
technologies which are the cause of the destruction of the earth.
The imbalance that we people have created between our lives and earth are the cause of disasters in
the form of flood, cyclones, landslides, tsunami, drought and many more. If the imbalance continues to
rise, one day will come when there will be no life on the Earth.
Increase in global temperature will lead to melting of glaciers, change in rainfall patterns, increased
intensity and frequency of extreme weather. The melting of glaciers is going to be major cause of
shortage of drinking water.
According to scientists most of the glaciers will disappear within period of 15 to 25 years. Himalayan
glaciers have shrunk about 30 percent about 1970. There is increase in sea level from 0.35 mm to 0.4
mm. The rise in sea levels is major concern now days. There are many cities located in coastal areas will
submerge in the sea. And many islands will lose their existence and will be washed away from the
surface of the earth.
In the context of India, the global warming impacts a lot. India is agricultural country, here agriculture
depends upon the monsoon. Though it affects whole country but northern India is affected a lot
because it is high yielding region. The rise in atmospheric temperature and fall in rain would naturally
result in decline in crop production also it will affect the biodiversity.
Positives of Global warming:
Awareness is a huge positive point of Global Warming.
Global warming is serious problem, we have to take proper initiatives to save this mother earth. We
have to stop producing of co2.
Nevertheless, there are potential ways to solve these problems or at least reduce the effects. Governments need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and promote alternatives. Plant-
derived plastics, biodiesel, wind power and solar power are all things that are a step in the right direction, but governments need to enforce the limits on CO2 emissions for the polluting industries in
their countries for these to be effective. Also, individuals can play a part by making lifestyle changes.
People should try to buy cars with the best fuel economy, and only use their car when really necessary.
They can also switch to energy companies that use renewable energy rather than fossil fuels. Finally,
small things like buying energy efficient light bulbs, turning off electricity in the house, and planting
trees in the garden can help. Always try your best to educate people about global warming and it ’s
causes and after affects. Tell them how they can contribute their part by saving energy that will be good
for the environment. Gather opportunities and establish programs that will help you to share
information with friends, relatives and neighbors.
To conclude, although global warming is a serious issue, there are steps that governments and
individuals can take to reduce its effects. If we are to save our planet, it is important that this is treated
as a priority for all concerned.
